Indian track and field athlete Seema Kumari has won a historic bronze medal for India in the women’s 10,000m at the Asian Games 2026, clocking 32:50.05.
It is India’s first medal in the event in 16 years and only the third 10,000m medal in the country’s Asian Games history.Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi clinched gold with a time of 32:39.18, while Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka took silver in 32:41.54.Seema arrived in Nagoya in strong form for her Asian Games debut, having set a personal best of 32:02.43 in the 10,000m at The TEN earlier this year. She also won gold in both the 5,000m and 10,000m at the Inter-State Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar.
